Workshop

Future-proof Science Communication (limited capacity)

Baroniezaal

A workshop on science communication hosted by Ivo van Vulpen and Margriet van der Heijden, that will take place on both conference days at the Baroniezaal during the poster sessions. Please note that this workshop has a limited capacity of 25 participants.

Registration for this workshop is no longer possible. If you have any questions about participation, please send an email to physics@nwo.nl.

If the number of participants exceeds the number of spots available, we will make a selection based on position and organisation, such that a good mix of participants will be achieved. You will be notified if you have (not) been selected before the conference.

In this workshop, we will explore how we as physicists can best reach various target groups and fine-tune our message to truly bring it across. To this end, you will be asked to work in small groups and to ‘design’ an outreach activity for a target group of your choice. The focus this year will be on future generations and/or possibilities that new technologies offer for science communication (apps, AI). We will evaluate and discuss the pitches and communication all together afterwards and see how we can both assess and increase the impact of our message.
